The restaurant, Le Bistrot de ‘Louise’, is in Venarey-Les Laumes, close to Alise-Sainte-Reine. Régis Bolâtre and his wife, Angélique, launched the restaurant two years ago. Today, the Michelin Guide has awarded this establishment with a ‘fourchette’. By selecting the main town in the Canton of Venarey, it was the intention of the couple to ensure that the new restaurant would complement the established family business at the ‘Auberge du Cheval Blanc’ in nearby Alise-Sainte-Reine.
Offering less expensive menus than their restaurant at the Auberge, the quality of cuisine is nevertheless preserved in this modern restaurant, welcoming passers-by and those who work in offices, in shops, and in construction.
That Le Bistrot de ‘Louise’ would be accessible to all was the first and basic idea of the couple. Time has proven this to be a wise decision. “Anyone who works hard and is looking to eat a straight forward lunch deserves to be looked after just the same as a customer who spends €60!” states Régis Bolâtre.
